The United Kingdom is ready to advance with using the total value of frozen Russian funds to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the United States.

United Kingdom penalties have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, money provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national assets to halt hostilities.

He noted that further restrictions over the next period would heighten the tension on Russia.
