The Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of fresh additions before the game's launch, to trainers forming firm views on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
With numerous of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that emphasize their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram far more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the good side of both and benefit from a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to foresee an opponent's future actions, which seems very similar to a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a intense sign famous for often becoming absorbed in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the creature with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be transmitting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly judgmental is clearly reflected across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably benefit from Super Audino's skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad backstory: Discarded as a doll, it gained consciousness through sheer hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always think they’re right. The thing is, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire category matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
