Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
