Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
