Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
