It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
